According to the Associated Press, New Jersey Police used pepper spray to restrain a groundhog. Boonton police was called in after Alex Scott, a resident of the city, was chased by the rodent on his way to his truck. Two police officers, Sgt. Mike Danyo and Officer Paul Ryan, were at the scene to witness the groundhog at its best. As Officer Danyo “tripped and fell his partner sprayed pepper spray into [its] face;” the rodent was euthanized and will be sent to the State’s Health Department for testing.
